The National Committee of the Constitution Party,  in concluding its 16th
year of operation, and determined not to waste any time in preparing for
the next four years, held an important post-election national meeting in
Orlando, Florida this past weekend. *Topics on the table* included, (among
several other things):  funding an outreach program to enable party speakers
to travel across the country to take the message of the Constitution Party
to various groups and individuals;  improving the party’s ballot access
operation, particularly the funding thereof;  adding a staff coordinator for
the western states;  discussing means by which to support the efforts of
California Constitutionalists in their battle to re-assert their rightful
leadership of the American Independent Party in that state; as well as
consideration of the (successful) applications for affiliation by *new
Constitution Party state organizations in Nebraska and Alabama*. (There are
now affiliate state party organizations recognized by the National Committee
of the Constitution Party in every state other than Alaska, Wyoming,
Maryland, Oregon and Montana.  In Maryland, a new Constitution Party group
has been meeting for several months and is expected to seek affiliation at
the next national committee meeting in Newark, New Jersey in April.  Oregon
and Montana, of course, each have independent, ballot qualified Constitution
Party organizations.  The Oregon CP enthusiastically supported the *
Baldwin/Castle* ticket.  The leadership of the Montana CP did otherwise, but
there has been a change of leadership recently in that state and there is
strong support for the national party among members across the state.  It is
certainly anticipated that there will be Constitution Party affiliate
organizations in all 50 states by 2012 and hopefully as
soon as 2010)

Also of great interest were the outstanding presentations made by numerous
speakers including Presidential nominee, *Chuck Baldwin*; Vice-Presidential
nominee *Darrell Castle* (who made a particularly effective argument and
appeal to “End the Fed”), CP founder, *Howard Phillips*, and former
U.S. Congressman, *John Hostettler* of Indiana, as well as the panel
discussion moderated by CP media Coordinator, *Mary Starrett,* on “The
Constitution Party–Looking Forward”, which* *included National Chairman, *Jim
Clymer, Darrell Castle *and* * *Howard Phillips*.

The National Committee was also treated to an extremely dynamic
presentation from* Catherine Bleish*, a Constitution Party member from
Kansas City, MO and representative of the Liberty Restoration Project.
Catherine
emphasized the need for
networking with various patriotic and constitutional organizations and
appealing to young voters.

For the first time ever, these national committee presentations were carried
live by streaming video and audio by
www.Republicmedia.tv<http://www.republicmedia.tv/>and can still be
accessed at the following link:  STREAMING
VIDEO RE-RUN OF THE ENTIRE BROADCAST IS ON AN INFINITE LOOP RIGHT  NOW TUNE
IN! <http://www.republicmedia.tv/live/>  The Constitution Party greatly
appreciates Republicmedia for making these presentations available to people
all across America live and now on a re-run basis.  Special thanks go out to
*Mark Adams* for facilitating this production.

The next (Spring) meeting of the Constitution Party National Committee
(where  CP members and supporters, as always are welcome to register,
attend and observe all presentations and deliberations) will be in the *Newark,
New Jersey* area April 17 and 18th, 2009.  Further details concerning
this will be forthcoming.  Time passes quickly, so please mark your
calendars and plan to attend.  All state affiliates should be planning now
to make sure they have representation at that meeting and those in the
Eastern States, in particular, should be encouraging their rank and file to
plan on attending and taking advantage of this opportunity to meet with
Constitution Party leaders from around the country.

Also determined in Orlando was that the Fall National Committee meeting
(there are two per year) of the Constitution Party is planned for the *Phoenix,
Arizona* area .  *Mark Hubler*, state chairman of the re-vitalized and
re-organized Constitution Party of Arizona, attended the Orlando meeting and
invited the Committee to bring its next scheduled meeting to be held in the
Western region to Arizona.  His invitation was accepted.  This should be a
great opportunity to expose Arizona, a state where the Constitution Party
has never been on the ballot, to the Constitution Party.  The Baldwin/Castle
ticket did receive about 1,400 write-in votes in Arizona in 2008 and the new
Arizona CP organization is making plans to begin the ballot access process
soon for the 2010 election.

Although the post-Presidential Election National Meeting in mid
December always brings the smallest turnout of  every four year cycle,
this meeting did attract a healthy representation of CP leaders from a
good cross-section
of the country and,  in particular, a strong participation by Floridians
including recent state chairman *David Crowell*, new state Chairman,
*Dan Gonzales, **Mayor Tom Eschenberg *of Malabar, Florida, along with
a number of other Constitution Party activists from the Sunshine State.

The *Constitution Party*,  as it looks forward to 2009 and beyond, is very
optimistic and enthusiastic about its prospects for providing the
political vehicle with which Americans can change the the nation’s
direction,  restore Constitutional government and reclaim the dream of
liberty and opportunity for all of its citizens.
